Welcome to the beta version of the Puzzle World database project. The underlying goal in this project is to provide the international puzzle collector community with a publicly accessible online database. After some discussion of the concept ensued on the Nobnet mailing list back in December of 2003, I volunteered to write the server software which would make it possible. Because my work on the project is purely on a volunteer basis, I am not able to put in as much time writing code as I would like. Consequently, the project timeline has been pushed back several times due to my inability to find free time to work on it. If you're one of the many who have been eagerly awaiting the completion of this website, please accept my most sincere apologies for the slow progress.

Although the ultimate goal of this website is for members to be able to modify and add photos and information about these puzzles, currently it is a "read only" system. Furthermore, the content currently in the database is mainly based upon the puzzles that I make and sell. Once I have opened up the site for public access, there will hopefully be much more information pertaining to designers and manufacturers other than myself.

There have been many challenging issues that I have been working with as I designed this website, and although I am proud of the work that I have done so far, I am the first to admit that there are undoubtedly numerous typos, formatting errors, programmatic errors, and sometimes even fatal execution errors. If, as you are browsing this site, you encounter any problems or think of any suggestions for improvement, please send me an email so that I know what to fix!
